Personally I would pick the Beretta hands down. They are $300 cheaper (with KO) and about $600 cheaper if you get the Beretta without the Kickoff. Benelli's are lighter, but the front end is too light. All of the weight of the gun is in the back and I like a balanced gun as far as weight goes.

M2 is 3", A400 Xtreme is 3 1/2". I think a better comparison would be the A300 Outlander vs the M2. I have seen some dirt low deals on the A300 and love the way that guns fits me. I am 100% pro-Beretta but some people just love the Benelli and there is no harm no foul there. They make a damn good gun as well.

Two of the Benelli had similar trigger issues that effected their hunt. The friend had the A400 and he had a great hunt. Another option to look at would be the Franchi Affinity 3.5.
